Jeffery Smith, born in Shreveport, Louisiana, began playing music at the tender age of seven. Raised among other talented musicians, Jeffery was exposed to, and ultimately mastered six different instruments including lead, bass, and acoustic guitars, keyboards, drums, percussion and talkbox. He started his own band at the age of nine, and the neighborhood girls formed his very first fan club.

As a promising multi-instrumentalist, he continued to perfect his skills over the years by performing a variety of musical styles while playing in concert, marching, stage, and symphonic bands with his school and local community. Jeffery developed his own distinctive sound by listening to legendary greats as George Benson, Wes Montgomery, Lionel Richie, Frankie Beverly, Roger Troutman, Prince, Michael Jackson and the Jackson Five, Earth Wind and Fire, Commodores and many other soul and R&B artists.

While pursuing a degree in accounting at Louisiana’s prestigious Southern University, Jeffery could not deny his first love- Music. He soon joined a local band, launching his career, touring as an opening act for 80’s R&B icons the likes of Lakeside, The Bar-Kays, Midnight Starr, Roger Troutman & Zapp, Bobby Bland, Millie Jackson and a host of other well-known talents.

In 1993, Jeffery recorded his very first solo project entitled, “Eyes on You” (no longer available). Although the album experienced limited success, Jeffery considered it an invaluable venue because it produced priceless skills in music management, marketing, copywriting, publishing, and promotions. Jeffery has released over 14 albums as an independent artist.

Now in his fourth decade of recording popular romantic, spirited, funky and fluid George Benson and Wes Montgomery-influenced guitar magic, Dallas based artist, composer, producer Jeffery Smith graces us with his latest release, JAZZ PARTY. John Ford was born in 1952 and raised in Oklahoma City and started playing drums at the early age of 13. By his 16th birthday, he began sitting in with various bands. He briefly left Oklahoma City at 17 years of age and joined his first band, the Funke Bunch in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Upon returning to Oklahoma City, he formed his own band, The Funke Music Machine and enjoyed a timeline of eight years with them.

By 1976 he merged with the California Malibus and began touring. They traveled with the Chilites, SOS Band, Denise LaSalle, Chocolate Milk and Johnny Taylor, for nine months through Chicago, Atlanta, Montgomery, Denver, Dallas, Jackson, MS, and Kansas City, MO. He completed another 3 years with the group before moving to Dallas.

Having met Harvey Mason in 1977, John began to shape his sound evenly performing the standards required yet polishing up signature licks distinctive to his own sound. He joined the group, Destinee, in 1980 in Dallas and performed in Japan with them as a short promotional tour 1991-92.

Returning to Dallas, John immediately sought out Johnny Taylor and his accompaniment of solid musicians. Here he focused on the growth that would eventually mold him into a Band Leader experienced enough to guide his own crew and significantly exert a positive influence in all selected music.

Armed with a format, and having experienced various approaches to Band directing, he returned home to OKC and performed with and observed musicians for several years. He worked with any and all local groups both inside and out of the studios. Setting on a choice group of performers, he put together his band, 411. John has assembled eight very talented musicians and, currently, performs nightly in Oklahoma City.

Grady has performed onstage with Peter Cetera, the Beach Boys, Leigh Nash of Sixpence None the Richer, Kenny Loggins, Kirk Whalum, and Bob James. Being called a great singer on the saxophone, Grady approaches playing the sax to sound like a singer. Maybe this explains why Grady has opened for music royalty like Luciano Pavarotti, Ray Charles, Huey Lewis and the News, George Benson, Al Green, the Righteous Brothers, the Temptations, and so many more. It doesn’t hurt to mention that Grady’s most famous song, “London Baby'', which has a new rendition on his recent LIVE record, was on the Billboard Jazz Charts for six months!

Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Michael McKinney attended and graduated from Douglass High School in Oklahoma City, where he was a drummer in the marching band as well as playing upright bass. After graduating he moved to Dallas Texas and continued his music education at Bishop College (Paul Quinn College) and furthered his studies at Southern Methodist University. While attending college he was asked to join and play bass guitar with popular local bands that were in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area, such as The Apollo Commanders and The Soul Seven which went on to release a record that contained the songs "Mr. Chicken" and" Cissy's Thing"[1] both of which McKinney co-wrote and co produced which would later be used as the main sample for Christina Aguilera's multi platinum song, "Ain't No Other Man". While in Dallas, he was approached by country singer Michael Martin Murphey to come play and record with his band, which resulted in the song "Wildfire". The song went on to be certified platinum and reach #1 on Billboard, June 1975. While in Dallas, McKinney met and became close friends with eventual Stevie Wonder band member, Saxophonist Hank Redd, who suggested he should relocate to Los Angeles. Shortly after relocating, Redd introduced McKinney to Stevie Wonder's bassist, Nathan Watts, who suggested The Jacksons use McKinney for the upcoming[3] Destiny World Tour. After meeting and auditioning for Michael and Marlon Jackson, McKinney was hired and went on tour [with the Jacksons]. After the tour completed, McKinney began to record and co-write with Michael and Tito Jackson for the upcoming Jackson album titled "Triumph". [This] resulted in the co-write of the song, "Everybody", culminating in going on the supporting Triumph Tour. "Everybody" is more playful than the Off the Wall dance tunes, with Mike McKinney propelling it like a plane turning and bearing down”, according to Michael Jackson’s memoir, Moonwalk…[4] After the completion of the tour in 1981, the Jacksons released the Jacksons LIVE album [5] which featured McKinney on bass [6]. After the tour ended, McKinney went on to perform with Quincy Jones’ protégé, Patti Austin, on her LIVE IN JAPAN Tour. Following this tour, he went on to focus on more songwriting and production. Michael McKinney currently resides in Oklahoma City, continuing his work as a musician, singer, songwriter and recording artist. Personal Life McKinney's mother was noted pianist June McKinney, who played with Count Basie, and is the father of noted Grammy Producer Songwriter Mack McKinney.

Chanda has been blessed to share the stage with greats such as Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Kierra Sheard, the Clark Sisters, and Kim Burrell, to name a few. Transitioning from gospel to jazz and blues was a natural progression in her musical expression. She was honored to perform with 18 time Grammy award winner, Bobby Sparks, Blake Shelton on the NBC special “Clash of the Choirs,” and also appeared with Shelton in an opener for NASCAR. Chanda is also a studio vocalist, recording regularly for Grammy-nominated producer, Wes Sharon of 115 Recording, Brent Krueger and many others providing vocals for music artists of every genre. Presently, Chanda is writing in anticipation of releasing her first solo project.

Brothers Dupree was formed in 2001 by Danny Cox, Tom Greer and Denny Baker. R.I.P. Brothers Dupree is a household name in Southern and Central Oklahoma and Northern Texas. over the years the band has gone through many configurations.The current unit consists of. Danny cox. Hammond B3, Roland Piano / Vocals. Tom Greer Yamaha Keyboards / vocals. George Keck Drums / vocals. Sidemen Ken Osbun / Trumpet and Rudy Perez/ Congas. Often referred to as "No Strings Attached" also known as "That Tight Band from Lawton." For this event you can expect to hear tunes from Horace Silver, Miles Davis, Stanley Turrentine and of course Steely Dan and More.

Maurice Johnson first gained notice in 1985 shortly after forming the Oklahoma City based, "After Five" band. Considered the young lions of jazz, "After Five" gained a great deal of popularity, sharing the stage with major acts including, George Benson, George Howard, Norman Brown, Nancy Wilson, Al Green, Alex Bungon, Stanley Turrentine, Little Melton, Mary Wright, Ronny Laws, Jennifer Holiday, Freddy Jackson, Larry Coryell, Barney Kessel and many others.
As the early 90's unfolded, Maurice found himself at the helm of a unique industry as co-founder of D'Leco Acoustic Instruments with luthier / partner James W. Dale. The two built and marketed handcrafted archtop guitars. After a chance encounter with the daughter of legendary Jazz great, Charlie Christian they designed and licensed two exclusive lines of Charlie Christian guitar models to American manufacturer, Gibson Guitars and Samick Musical Instruments in Korea. Between 1996 and 2003 Maurice authored three nationally published music related books with Mel Bay Publishing, Mix Books and Artist Pro Press. Titles include, The New Working Musician's One Year Organizer; Build and Manage Your Music Career and Gigorama. During this time he would develop the popular windows based, Gigorama software. Today, Maurice's focus has turned back to his love of music with the recent release of his "Tonight" CD, and is currently producing under the artist-owned, Jazz Drops record label.
