Award-winning Chinese jazz guitarist Lang Xie brings his acclaimed contemporary jazz sound to the UCO Jazz Lab, performing at 8 PM on Thursday, August 13th.

Based between China and New York, Xie is an internationally recognized guitarist, composer and educator known for blending contemporary jazz with influences from around the world. A graduate of New York University and Berklee College of Music, he has studied with acclaimed guitarists Gilad Hekselman, Peter Bernstein, Tim Miller and other leading artists in jazz.

As founder and bandleader of Déjà Vu Experiment, Xie won China’s premier national jazz band competition and has performed at major festivals and venues throughout China and the United States. His inventive playing and original compositions have earned recognition for their technical artistry and fresh musical perspective.
