Experience a historic evening of jazz brilliance as five international powerhouses unite on stage for a once-in-a-lifetime performance. The Ladies of Legacy showcase features three masterful pianists—Champian Fulton, Youngjoo Song, and Miki Yamanaka—anchored by Raul Reyes on bass and Steve Pruitt on drums. Together, they’ll explore tradition, push boundaries, and celebrate the deep legacy of women in jazz.

Champian Fulton – Piano & Vocals
An Oklahoma native and rising jazz luminary, Champian Fulton is a nationally recognized vocalist and pianist with 18 acclaimed albums and performances in over 25 countries. With a style rooted in swing and bebop, her playing is deeply expressive and joyfully classic. Her accolades include NYC Jazz Record’s “Album of the Year” (2018, 2020, 2023) and “Pianist/Vocalist of the Year” by Hot House.

Youngjoo Song – Piano
One of Korea’s most prominent jazz exports, Youngjoo Song is a Berklee and Manhattan School of Music graduate who’s performed at Blue Note NYC and released over a dozen albums. She blends lyrical improvisation with sophisticated composition, often serving as a bridge between East and West in the global jazz community.

Miki Yamanaka – Piano
Known for her elegant phrasing and harmonic depth, Miki Yamanaka brings the Tokyo-NYC connection to life. Her albums—“Stairway to the Stars”, “Shades of Rainbow”, and “Miki”—have garnered international praise. A protégé of jazz greats like Fred Hersch and Jason Moran, Miki’s voice is quickly becoming one of the most distinct in modern jazz piano.

Raul Reyes – Bass
A classically trained and jazz-grounded bassist originally from Cuba, Raul Reyes holds degrees from UCO and Juilliard. His playing blends virtuosity with groove, making him a first-call artist for artists across genres. Raul also serves on faculty at Tarleton State University and remains active as a performer and educator.

Steve Pruitt – Drums
Former drummer for Snarky Puppy, Steve Pruitt is a UNT-trained powerhouse who fuses jazz, funk, and fusion with remarkable precision and energy. A seasoned sideman and educator, Steve has toured the globe and remains a fixture in the Oklahoma and international jazz scenes.
